Setback
During the first attempt to shoot, the lights were hotter than anticipated, causing the glass UV filters to shatter despite them being somewhat temperature proof. As a result, all shooting has been put on hold until a new set of filters can be delivered, something that will likely take several weeks. Rather than do nothing for this time, I have decided to complete a shoot using the original UV lighting method to ensure at least some images are completed for this project in the event the filters fail again. I will also ensure cooler lights are used in future shoots to prevent the new filters from shattering.

Shoot Plan
Whilst the shattering of the filters has resulted in a set back in image production, I intend to do a shoot using the original UV method I used during the 1 week projects (using standard UV lights) in order to ensure I could produce work fitting the brief depending in the event the new set of filters are to long delayed or easily shattered again. This shoot will also provide an opportunity to experiment with the macro style I am planning to use.
Equipment: Equipment: Camera (Canon 80D), Zoom Lens, Kit Lens, Macro Lens, UV Light, Flowers H&S: Care must be taken when taking these images in the enclosed space of a studio. All cables from lights must be kept safe and out of the way to prevent tripping. Ensure light temperature isn't liable to cause the filters to shatter. |

Shoot Evaluation
This shoot has proven to be a successful test of the macro style images I intended to produce. The images almost possess a landscape like quality to them. However, the images were also incredibly difficult to fully get into focus as literally any movement, even millimetres, would cause severe blur. This however is a problem that should be solved by the use of the filter and flash technique I intend to use for the next shoot. Ultimately this shoot has proven a successful experiment with the major flaw being fixed with the flash use in the next shoot. |
