Photographer/Image Research:
As a starting of point, I have looked into NASA's repository of high quality images of stellar bodies to give me inspiration for my shoots and to have a strong basis to work off for the planetary style of images. I also plan to look at ink in water photography to give me further inspiration for producing stellar style ink/paint in water photography. |
Alberto Seveso:
Alberto Seveso is an Italian photographer who works heavily with ink in water photography. He has worked previously with profile brands like: Adobe, Nikon, Sony and many others. His work involves using a high shutter speed to take the images to capture the precise movements within the ink. His work also would required the use of a high F.stop to get as much of the image in focus as possible. |
Mark Mawson:
Mark Mawson is another photographer I have looked at who works extensively with ink and water photography. He has spent over 30 years working colourful and motion based photography and he specialises in shooting liquids and his colourful work titled “Aqueous” has become especially popular and widely collectable. He even created a video which was projected onto Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s diamond jubilee celebrations. He makes his work using a close up style lens (e.g. a fixed lens), and works specifically with complimentary bright or muted colours respectively. Inspiration I will take from his work is the technique of actively mixing the water and ink/paint to produce spiral patterns, something that I will use in both my moving image and photography work. |
