Portrait Shoot Plan
For my portrait shoot, I plan to take the images a la Henri Cartier Bresson, specifically using black and white film and focusing on a fairly "honest and depressing" subject. However I also plan on incorporating a lot of object symbolism in a similar way to the Pre-raphaelite movement. I also plan on taking some digital images too if only as a backup in case something goes wrong with the film images. I will be taking the images in poorly lit environment but one where I will not be able to employ studio lights due to lack of space. To overcome this, I will use a slow shutterspeed to get a clear image whilst using a tripod to prevent any blur in the image, something that should work since my subject is still during the shoot. For health and safety, I will be working in a small space so I will have to take into account any trip hazards. |

Film Images & Shoot Evaluation
For the film images, I am extremely happy with them. I feel they perfectly represented the ideas I was aiming for. I feel the composition is good, the symbolism has come across very well and the use of film produced the feeling I wanted. I feel the images have come out exactly as I wanted and I don't feel the need for a reshoot. Whilst I am happy with the digital images, I feel the film images best represent the emotion and imagery I wanted and I will likely be using them for finals. However, where I to do the shoot again, I would choose to change the location to somewhere I could better control the lighting. |
