Photographer & Artist Research
Craig Burrows:
Having looked at Burrows work for the one week project that this specialist is based off of, it made sense to revisit his work for inspiration. Unlike the one week project, I also plan to shoot in the same technical style as Burrows, using a UV flash rather than just UV lighting. For this, I have researched further into his studio set up when shooting these images. Burrows uses a series UV flashes in a standard studio style setup. The studio is in complete darkness to prevent any visible light from affecting the images, with the studio's black surfaces preventing any reflection off the studios surfaces. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/craig-burrows-flowers-ultraviolet-light_n_58f4ff14e4b0b9e9848d7da6?ri18n=true&guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9jb25zZW50LnlhaG9vLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAALzlhNHxr_qbBWFihZ-su4qRbpFCnDvnLKo-EFaKTT_yQoRZNhmKIlNUwdPa53tW4bNFAIo8qxJ_Ol5AtaR3nXrsXYFipAglaaa390C_HwA3MNdCRDJ5JD9RZg89nM9lg96X3zkKUpxV1OHf8ZHdtriBrL_b9PFoEdDkwj0IPw8J

Don Komarechka:
Another photographer whose work has followed over from the one week project is Komarechka. Whilst he focuses more on micro-fauna, he uses the the same flash technique as Burrows and that I plan to use. Like Burrows, his work requires a totally dark studio with UV flash lights and zero reflective surfaces.

Whilst there are phew photographers who work exclusively in the medium of infrared when it comes to nature photography, so I collected a variety of images of infrared nature and landscape photography. I have also looked at a series of guides that advise how to take infrared nature and landscape images to provide me with technical inspiration.

Piper Mackay
Whilst she works in the area of wildlife photography, I have chosen to look at Mackay's project "Africa in Infrared". This project involves savannah wildlife image taken using infrared filters, the same technique I intend to use for my infrared images. www.pipermackayphotography.com/2016/08/africa-in-infrared/

Yayoi Kusama:
I have chosen to look at Kusama's Infinity Room installation as a conceptual comparison of an abstract piece of work giving the impression of a landscape. For her work, she used mirrors to give the impression of an infinite room space. I have looked at her work here as this false impression of landscape is something I intend to do for my images too. blooloop.com/news/tate-modern-yayoi-kusama-infinity-rooms/
