Street Shoot Research
For my street project, I wanted to look into old style sepia photography, looking into sepia analog images taken on Brighton seafront. However, I would like to put a modern twist on my shots, with them still being dressed in modern day clothing and in modern day places but still with the slightly candid appearance from the the images I've looked at (below).
I have also looked at the Royal Pavilion & Museums Brighton images collection (as linked below)

With the large collection available, I have looked at the various candid style images and the style with which they were taken.
Each image is taken with the face sharp and visible with most images having a large enough depth of field to have the background mostly in focus too.

Celebrity Research
One celebrity I have contacted is Jacksepticeye (real name Sean William Mcloughlin). He is a Youtube personality and letsplayer from Ireland who now lives in Brighton. I feel my experience with brightly coloured work and access to the studios would allow me to produce some professional quality work for him. Contaced Via: His Website Update: No response |
Another celebrity I have contacted is Peter Irving, an actor most famous for his role as Colonel George Smith in Sajjan Singh Rangroot. He is also an associate of a close friend of mine, giving me a personal reference and extra re pour with him. Contaced Via: Instagram - drama_cannon Update: Successful response and booked shoot |
Headshot Research
Researching into how standard professional headshots are taken, they are all taken face on to the person, with them looking directly into the camera. They are also taken with dull and plain backgrounds, not causing any distraction from the person. Many of the images are also taken in black and white, bringing out much of the texture of the persons face.
The shots are also taken with the face strongly lit from the front, but with it being lit from the sides too to prevent any facial shadowing.
