Studio Shoot Ideas/Research |
Moodboards |
Starting with what my client showed me during our original briefing, she presented a picture (shown left) as an example of what she wanted her images to look like. It immediately reminded me of a previous shoot I did using red wire lights (also shown left). From this, I decided to look into combining facial portrait images with shutter speed of wire lights. |

Headshot Research
Researching into how standard professional headshots are taken, they are all taken face on to the person, with them looking directly into the camera. They are also taken with dull and plain backgrounds, not causing any distraction from the person. Many of the images are also taken in black and white, bringing out much of the texture of the persons face. The shots are also taken with the face strongly lit from the front, but with it being lit from the sides too to prevent any facial shadowing. |

Live Lounge Research
Researching into live lounge photography, I have looked at the live lounge work of photographer Mark Allen, A photographer who specialises in photography of musicians and who has worked with multiple companies including BBC, ITV and Channel 4 His shots are all taken with the person well lit from the front with the face clearly visible and well lit. They are also taken with the brightly lit colours of the live lounge in the background. Most are also taken from slightly to the side rather than straight on but with the entire face still visible. I intend to employ these techniques during my client's lounge shoot. |
