Self Portrait Re-Shoot
Since I was unhappy with the previous images, I decided a reshoot was necessary. Taking into account the feedback i'd been given during the crit, my plan is to no longer have the images black and white but instead use muted colours. I will also focus more heavily on the changes between reality and the reflection. |
Shoot Plan
Equipment:
Camera
Tripod
Appropriate Clothing
Person to take the images once i've set up the camera
Health & Safety: Since i'm taking images near water, I'll need to keep the camera a minimum 1 metre safe distance away from water. I will also need to make sure there is rescue equipment nearby in case of drowning. Since the area is likely to be muddy, appropriate footwear must be worn.
Again, when taking the image, I would have to make sure the camera remained in the same place at the same angle so all of the pictures would line up perfectly. Also, since I would be in the image, I will have to set up the camera so the angle, focus and settings are correct, and then have someone else take the picture once I was in position.

Shoot Evaluation
I am relatively happy with these images, I feel they have well represented the reflection idea I wanted to create and that they convey the intended message well. I also feel the use of muted colour has much improved the images. However I feel these images lack the bright and bold colours of the first shoot, an aspect of them I would have liked to continue. If I were to do the shoot again, I would do it on a day with better natural lighting/weather so the colours would be much brighter, giving more contrast between the bright and muted colours.
